KidsTimer — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 15, 2026

✓ No data collected

KidsTimer is a parental-control screen-time app that runs entirely on your device. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your information.

Summary

KidsTimer does not connect to the internet, does not have an account system, and does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, usage data, or analytics — to us or to any third party. Everything the app needs (your PIN, your timer settings) is stored only in the app's private storage on your own device and never leaves it.

Permissions the app requests, and why

PermissionPurpose
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW / "Display over other apps" Required so the parent-set timer lock screen can appear above whatever app your child is using once time is up.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM Used to trigger the lock screen at precisely the time the timer expires, even if the app isn't in the foreground.
Foreground service + notification Keeps the countdown running reliably in the background and shows the ongoing "time left" notification, so the timer can't be silently killed by the system.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED Restarts an active timer after the device reboots, so a child can't bypass a timer by restarting the phone.
Battery optimization exemption (optional, user-initiated) Improves reliability of the background timer on devices that aggressively kill background apps. You are asked before this is requested.

None of these permissions are used to collect or transmit information — they exist solely to make the on-device timer and lock screen work reliably.

Data we do not collect

Parent PIN & app settings

The admin PIN you set and your timer preferences are stored locally on your device using Android's standard app-private storage. They are never transmitted off the device and are removed automatically if you uninstall the app.

Children's privacy

KidsTimer is a tool for parents to configure and manage; it is not directed at children as its intended audience, and it does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, child or adult, because it collects no information at all.

Changes to this policy

If KidsTimer's data practices change in the future (for example, if an ad-supported version is introduced), this page will be updated first, the in-app "Does this app contain ads?" disclosure will reflect it, and the update date above will change accordingly.
