KidsTimer — Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using KidsTimer ("the App"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. What KidsTimer does

KidsTimer is a parental-control utility that lets a parent or guardian set a countdown timer on a shared or child-used device. When the timer expires, the App shows a full-screen lock that can only be dismissed with a PIN the parent sets. The App runs entirely on-device — see the Privacy Policy for details on data handling.

3. Who should use it

KidsTimer is intended to be configured and administered by an adult parent or guardian. The "PIN" and settings are meant to be known only to that adult, not the child using the device.

4. Your responsibilities

• Keep your admin PIN reasonably private from the child using the device.
• Grant the App the permissions it requests (overlay, exact alarm, notifications) — without them, the lock/timer features will not work reliably.
• You are responsible for how you configure and use the App, including timer durations and PIN choice.

5. No guarantee against circumvention

KidsTimer is a convenience tool, not an unbreakable security system. A sufficiently technical child may be able to bypass the lock screen by, for example, uninstalling the App, using a factory reset, using developer tools (ADB), or exploiting a device-specific quirk. KidsTimer makes reasonable efforts (screen pinning, foreground-service persistence, boot-time restart) to resist casual bypass, but does not and cannot guarantee the App cannot be circumvented. Do not rely on it as your sole safeguard for situations with serious consequences.

6. No warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, reliability, or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free. Background timers on Android can be delayed or killed by aggressive OEM battery management outside the developer's control.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including a child exceeding intended screen time because the App's lock or timer did not trigger, was delayed, or was bypassed.

8. Changes

The App and these Terms may be updated over time (for example, when ads are introduced in a future version — see the Privacy Policy for how that will be disclosed). Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it, which also removes all locally stored settings and PIN data from your device.
